Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a total of 16 airport projects on Sunday, as announced by Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday.

The inauguration will include the virtual unveiling of the airport terminal at Gwalior aerodrome. Notably, the occasion will also witness the unveiling of a statue honouring Raj Mata Vijayraje Scindia at the airport. Minister Scindia emphasized that this event marks a historic moment, being the first time in the last 75 years that 16 airports will either be opened or have their foundation stones laid on a single day.
