Piyush Goyal on UK visit to boost FTA talks

The high-level visit comes at a pivotal time in bilateral relations, shortly after both Prime Ministers signaled their commitment to finalizing the FTA, which is expected to unlock new economic opportunities for both nations.

Goyal's visit underscores India's strategic intent to solidify its global trade partnerships, with the UK emerging as a key partner. The visit marks a transition from high-level policy announcements to on-the-ground action, as both countries strive to complete the agreement that has been in negotiation for several months.

During his stay in London, Goyal is scheduled to meet top UK officials and business leaders to discuss the roadmap for concluding the FTA. His first key engagement will be a bilateral meeting with Jonathan Reynolds, the UK's Secretary of State for Business and Trade. In this meeting, the two leaders are expected to review the current status of negotiations, assess progress made by their respective teams, and set a clear and time-bound agenda to bring the agreement to completion.
