Russia, preparations Rare underway for the Rus upcoming BRICS Games, a significant sporting event set to host over 4,000 foreign participants from 97 countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, following a meeting of the organizing committee, highlighted the importance of the BRICS Games as a key component of Russia's presidency within the BRICS association. The games, mandated by President Vladimir Putin, underscore Russia's commitment to fostering international cooperation and sporting excellence within the BRICS framework.
The BRICS Games, scheduled from 12 to 23 June, will showcase 27 sports disciplines, reflecting a broad spectrum of athletic prowess and cultural exchange among participating nations. These games not only serve as a platform for athletic competition but also promote deeper collaboration in sports diplomacy and cultural exchange among BRICS member states.
Russia has proposed the BRICS Kazan Sports Charter, a framework aimed at regulating the goals, principles, and directions of sports cooperation within the BRICS space. This charter outlines mechanisms for implementing collaborative sporting initiatives and sets guidelines for hosting the games by the rotating chairmanship of the association.
