Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister, Set for Official Visit to Sri Lanka

The Ministry of External Affairs announced on Wednesday that Union Minister S. Jaishankar is scheduled to embark on an official visit to Sri Lanka on June 20.

During this trip, Jaishankar, as India's External Affairs Minister, will engage in meetings with Sri Lanka's leadership to discuss a wide array of issues pertinent to the partnership between the two nations.
"This will be EAM's first bilateral visit after the formation of a new Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi," stated the Ministry of External Affairs in an official release. This visit underscores India's steadfast commitment to Sri Lanka, its nearest maritime neighbour, and longstanding friend.
Reaffirming India's Neighbourhood First Policy, Jaishankar's visit aims to bolster cooperation and enhance connectivity projects across various sectors between the two countries. The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized that this initiative will add momentum to the mutually beneficial relations shared by India and Sri Lanka.
