India's Ambassador to Malaysia, B N Reddy, emphasized the significance of the "very precious" relationship between India and Malaysia, citing vast potential for increased bilateral trade and investments that would fortify their strategic ties.

Speaking to a delegation of Indian journalists as part of the ASEAN-India Media Exchange Programme 2023, Reddy expressed the importance of the relationship given geographical proximity, diaspora connections, and the mutual desire of both governments to elevate their strategic partnership.
Highlighting the relationship's value, Reddy noted that India and Malaysia recently celebrated 65 years of diplomatic relations and are actively working to realize an enhanced strategic partnership initiated during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit in 2015.
