On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana (PSY), an initiative aimed at implementing rooftop solar power systems in 10 million households nationwide.
“On this auspicious occasion of consecration in Ayodhya, my resolution has been strengthened that every household in India should possess its own solar rooftop system. Upon my return from Ayodhya, my initial decision is to introduce the ‘Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana,’ with the goal of implementing rooftop solar systems in 10 million houses,” announced the Prime Minister on social media platforms.
The PM said the plan would not only reduce the power bill of the poor and middle class but would also make India self-reliant in the energy sector.
