DORKING Wanderers secured their place in the National League South play-offs with a 1-1 draw away at Worthing on Easter Monday.

Wanderers gained four points over the Easter weekend, having beaten Hampton & Richmond Borough 4-2 at Meadowbank on Good Friday, largely thanks to Charlie Carter's hat-trick within the first seven minutes of the match.

At Worthing, it was the home team who threatened first when Mo Faal dispossessed Rob Milsom and surged forward, only for his shot to be deflected behind by goalkeeper Harrison Foulkes.

Wanderers’ first real opening came courtesy of Niall McManus, whose relentless pressing forced Lucas Covolan into a rushed clearance. The ball fell to Carter, whose cushioned header found Alfie Rutherford whose shot flashed wide.

Moments later, Carter picked up the ball and drove into the box, curling a shot towards the near post that just drifted the wrong side of the upright.
