Taylor shines at Low Fell as Carroll stars in Miners

Sunderland Harriers had two athletes finish inside the top 10 at the popular Watergate 5K race hosted by Low Fell Harriers, writes Kevin Carr.
Liam Taylor (M35) was first home for the club, crossing the line in fifth place in a time of 15:54. He was followed by Michael Rodenby (M35), who clocked 16:34 to finish seventh. Taylor and Rodenby finish second and third in their age category, and placed fourth men’s team overall.
Houghton Harrier Lee Dover (17:43) finished 28th, and sixth in his age category (M35).
Sunderland Harrier Steven Gordon completed the course in 19:22 to finish third M50.
Birtley’s Adrian Bailes dipped under the 15-minute mark to take the race in 14:54, with teammate Lewis McConnell finishing second in a time of 15:37. Daniel O’Boyle (unattached) was third in 15:41.
