Firefighters in the North East were called out to significantly more fires last year, new figures show.

Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government data shows emergency crews in Tyne and Wear attended 8,130 fires in the year to June - up 37% from 5,939 the previous year.
That included eight fatalities.
The call outs were among 165,697 fires in England - a 28% jump.
The year-on-year increase was mainly driven by a 52% rise in outdoor fires.
