New laws considered for e-scooters following rising concern over safety

Government transport experts are looking at new e-scooter regulations in the wake of deaths and hundreds of serious injuries in crashes involving the vehicles.

Despite no specific announcements the Government has pledged to seek "legislative reform for micromobility vehicles" in its recent Advanced Manufacturing Sector Plan for the UK.

Shared transport charity CoMoUK welcomed the "excellent news"-saying it would "end years of confusion about the legal status" of e-scooters.
