Strict bail conditions for accused school bullies

THE pupils linked to a shocking bullying incident at Milnerton High School in Cape Town that sparked widespread outrage must not contact the complainants and witnesses directly or indirectly.
If they see the complainants, they must avoid them. This is according to the bail conditions issued during their appearance in court yesterday.
They are also prohibited from entering the school yard or the school until the case is finalised, and must submit their cellphones and pins.
The eight learners appeared at Cape Town Magistrate’s Court following the assault of a Grade 10 learner that was captured on video and widely circulated on social media.
Six of the accused appeared in Court 26 and two others appeared in Court 19 as they are juveniles.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said the six accused who appeared at Court 16 were facing eight charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
