'Talk under oath'

US lawmakers calling on Sarah Ferguson to testify over Jeffrey Epstein have said they will find “terms that work for her” - but insist it must be under oath.

The former Duchess of York has been urged to share what she knows about the late financier and convicted paedophile.

Yesterday Congressman Suhas Subramanyam ramped up the pressure. He sits on America's House Oversight Committee probing the handling of Epstein’s prosecution, and believes she has information related to the investigation.

The congressman urged: “Sarah Ferguson should give sworn testimony to our committee.”

If she were to give evidence in the US, it could lead her to face awkward questions about her former husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was arrested over his association with Epstein last month.

But Mr Subramanyam added that lawmakers would be “happy to work out terms that work for her” as long as she gives evidence under oath.

Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury also said: “If Ferguson or any member of their family has such information, our responsibility is to follow the facts wherever they lead.”
