Caretaker boss Michael brings back the good times to Old Trafford with a sensational derby victory over City

MICHAEL CARRICK hailed his dream start as interim Manchester United manager, after leading his side to a delirious derby win at Old Trafford.

Carrick watched his Red Devils demolish Manchester City with their best performance of the season.

Second-half goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu left Pep Guardiola and his Sky Blue flops stunned.

And Carrick (left) admitted his first game in charge couldn't have gone any better. The 44-year-old beamed: "It is a great start - there is no getting away from that.

"Before the game, we spoke as coaches and said the boys were in a good place. City are an unbelievable team and they change it, so you have to go to Plan B and C.
