A 'PROLIFIC' thief has been banned from entering a number of shops in Birmingham as he was jailed for his crimes.

Anthony Jarvis was arrested and charged with nine thefts from shops and one attempted theft from the Sutton Coldfield area of the city.

The 32-year-old, of no fixed address, appeared Birmingham Magistrates Court where he was jailed for more than nine months.
