A HEALTH watchdog has raised concerns about the safety and care at a Birmingham nursing home.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has ordered Harborne Lane Nursing Home, in Selly Oak, to make improvements after finding a number of issues at an inspection.

Inspectors said they found five 'breaches of regulation relating to person-centred care, safe care and treatment, consent, safeguarding service users from abuse and improper treatment and good governance!

Families of some patients said they did not feel involved in their care and said there wasn't always enough staff, but the CQC found people were generally positive about the care received while relatives said they felt welcome.

The CQC awarded their second-lowest 'requires improvement' rating following the inspection, which took place in January and February this year.
