Chocolate maker's prices warning

ONE of Scotland's top chocolate makers has warned rising cocoa costs could put her out of business.

Chloe Oswald, 29, founder of Chocolatia in Angus, said prices are now so crippling she is going to temporarily leave the industry to have a baby.

Chloe - whose chocolate supplies the two-Michelin star Restaurant Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles, Inver in Loch Fyne and the luxury Belmond Royal Scotsman sleeper train - says she hopes to return in September if prices come down.

She said: "It's costing me more to actually make chocolates than it was to keep the business.
