Weir's way to top was written on a wish list

AS a 10-year-old, Caroline Weir wrote a list of what she hoped to achieve in football.

The list may long have been lost but the ambitions on it have not.

And the Scotland and Real Madrid midfielder ticks off another one of her goals tomorrow night in Paris as she finds herself rubbing shoulders at football's Oscars.

Nominated for the Ballon d'Or, the first female Scot to do so, Weir is thrilled with the company she is keeping.

"It genuinely was a dream of mine," she said.
