THE Madeleine McCann case prosecutor is pleading for information ahead of the prime suspect's jail release.

Paedophile Christian Brueckner is to be freed from a German prison by September 17 after a seven-year sentence for raping and beating a US pensioner in 2005 in Portugal.

The attack was in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz, where three-year-old Madeleine was last seen in May 2007.

Brueckner, who lived in a farmhouse in the area, was named five years ago by prosecutor Hans-Christian Wolters as prime suspect in Madeleine's disappearance.
