UK's peace keepers are all ready for end of war

THE summit in Alaska might have ended without a deal - but British peacekeeping troops are ready to arrive in Ukraine "within days" when the fighting finally stops.

Planning has continued on an "enduring basis" to deploy the so-called Multinational Force Ukraine once hostilities cease, the Ministry of Defence said.

The force, the result of months of talks between more than 30 countries in the "coalition of the willing", is aimed at warding off future Kremlin aggression.
