Hearts blow United away in a stormer

TYNIE TEMPEST AT FULL FORCE

DUNDEE UNITED'S ground staff did their job mopping up Tannadice after Tayside was battered by Storm Chandra.

But Jim Goodwin's side could do nothing to avoid being swept away by a Hearts tidal wave that has stormed seven points clear at the top.

A red card for Amar Fatah 24 minutes in and spot-kick - both awarded after VAR got involved - didn't help as United finished the night with nine men.

But before both of those incidents, the impressive Pierre Landry Kabore had handed Hearts the initiative inside 12 minutes.

Harry Milne played a neat one-two with Claudio Braga before hitting the touchline and cutting back for Kabore to nip ahead of Krisztian Keresztes and tap home.

It all started to unravel for United when winger Fatah took a heavy touch and, trying to make amends, caught Marc Leonard on the ankle after the Jambo had nipped in.

Ref Calum Scott booked him but, after being called to the monitor, upgraded to red.
