LIVINGSTON boss Davie Martindale last night claimed the integrity of the Championship has been called into question as the title goes down to the wire.

He thinks it’s nonsense that Hamilton won't know the outcome of their appeal against a 15-point deduction for multiple rule breaches until Thursday - the day before their crucial last league game against leaders Falkirk.

Livi ensured a nail-biting finish to the campaign thanks to a Robbie Muirhead double and goal from sub Tete Yengi.

The Lions are level with the Bairns at the summit but trail on goal difference. Martindale, whose side finish against Partick, said: "The timing [of the appeal] should have been better, I don't understand why it's going to take so long.

"It should have been fast-tracked, I don't think Hamilton should have gone into this game wondering what their fate’s going to be next week.
