George aims to get Killie back to winning ways and head for his first cap on a high
GEORGE STANGER jets across the pond following Kilmarnock's Premiership clash with Celtic today hoping to win his first New Zealand cap.
And he hopes to be flying high by helping Killie end their four-game losing streak at the home of the champions.
Rugby Park defender Stanger has been called up again for the All Whites squad's friendlies with Colombia and Ecuador in America.
But before he looks to help his country continue their build up for next summer's World Cup, there is the small matter of a trip to Celtic and trying to halt Killie's losing run.
That is all Stanger is thinking about just now.
The stopper said: "I play Sunday and fly out on Monday but, I'll be honest, that trip has been completely at the back of my mind.
"The disappointment in the past few weeks has been on my mind and I'm trying to put that right.
"After the game on Sunday, my focus will switch on to that.
"I'll almost put my New Zealand hat on and focus on that. It's definitely exciting. Every time you get to be involved with your country it's a huge honour.
