SPOT-KICK revenge was so sweet for Saints as the Hearts revolution hit the skids at the SMiSA.
STEPHEN ROBINSON admitted St Mirren’s spot-kick win against Hearts was priceless.
The Buddies blew a hole in the Jambos' early-season excitement with new boy Malik Dijksteel showing nerves of steel to slam home the vital kick after Shamal George had saved from Claudio Braga.
Robinson who this week penned a contract extension - said: “We have defied the odds for three seasons and football isn't played on a finance sheet.
“Money can give you players but it can’t give you heart and desire.
“We have that in abundance but we also showed our quality too. We lacked a bit of composure in the second half which made the game hard but I'm so proud of them.”
Saints suffered on penalties to Hearts in the Scottish Cup and Robbo said: “My son Harry texted me after the game saying, 'I didn’t fancy you at all on penalties.' So cheers for the support, eh? We had
QUALITY SHOW Robinson worked on penalties and while it's a lottery at times, we had faith that Shamal would save at least one.
“All five showed so much composure. Malik is only in the door but said, 'I one hundred per cent want a penalty'. Credit to them all.
"Overall we could have put the game to bed in the first half but we take that."
