LA LIGA president Javier Tebas has hit out at the Premier League's handling of their case against Manchester City and taken aim at the FIFA Club World Cup.

- BY MARK LOMAS

The 62-year-old Spaniard also vowed to never give up on the idea of a Spanish top-flight game being played in America.

Tebas has questioned the strength of the EPL's financial regulations and insists the City case shows the laws are too lax.

He said: “UEFA already sanctioned City so, if the facts are the same, they should also be sanctioned by the Premier League.

“I get it. I'm a lawyer and in law we always say that it's not just about being right but about knowing how to prove your argument.”

Had the City case happened in Spain, Tebas feels that it would not have dragged on so long. He said: “La Liga does not act after the fact - we act beforehand, preventively.
