Scotch pancakes (or posh crepes)

M&S has caused quite a stir this week with its new Only... Ingredients range. The simple, hipster-style packaging promises just a handful of ingredients go into items including mayo and meatballs.

This is great news for all of us trying to cut out the rubbish and a really quick way to tell at a glance what's in something rather than trying to squint in the supermarket if you can even see the teeny writing on the back of products.

It's Pancake Tuesday this week and it occurred to me that old-school Scotch pancakes are the ultimate five-ingredient recipe with no ultra-processed foods.
