1. Dread a patient feels while waiting for a health scan result. Attributable to SNPbroken promises on NHS funding. See also: ferries, schools, justice system, police, economy etc.

Scanxiety, n.

THE first week of a new year is usually a time for resolutions and fresh starts.

But as we enter 2026, the people of Scotland are unfortunately locked into the same old incompetent SNP government for the next five months.

Of course John Swinney will deliver vague promises of better times being just around the corner and a reset of his failing administration.

But the truth is people are crying out for real and radical change that has a tangible positive impact on their lives.

At Holyrood on Tuesday the SNP will unveil the Scottish Budget, but we already know the script.

They will blame Westminster, despite the UK Labour Government providing record settlement figures and removing the cruel two-child benefit limit.

After nearly 20 years in power, it's the same old SNP song and dance.

John Swinney will claim the difficult choices he's making are the fault of someone, somewhere else. But they hold the levers.

They control our schools, our justice system, and our NHS.

The SNP's record is a catalogue of financial mismanagement.

From the ferry scandal that has sunk hundreds of millions into the Clyde, to the abandoned National Care Service that cost £30million before a single person was cared for; they are better at burning cash than building services.
