Toyota's Urban Cruiser can take everything Mother Nature and Poseidon throw at you

It may not have the same terrain-cracking edge as its much larger sibling but the Toyota Urban Cruiser is still an incredibly capable car.

While the Land Cruiser may dominate the hinterlands of the globe, this much smaller SUV can still show its mettle in testing conditions.

I know. I drove it in torrential rain with flooding along the way and cars veering crazily to avoid driving through the water. It was as though Mother Nature had released her grandson Poseidon upon the earth.

And still the Urban Cruiser ploughed resolutely onwards.

This is the latest all-electric SUV from Toyota available with two battery powertrains, a 49kWh delivering a range of 213 miles and only in the entry-level Icon trim.

Move up to the Design or top-of-the-range Excel trim and it comes with a 61kWh battery offering 264 miles.
