Proud John lives dream back in the Irish set-up

JOHN EGAN has admitted that it is a dream come true to be back in the Republic of Ireland setup.

Egan spent two years out of the squad as he fought a long battle to recover from an Achilles injury.

The Hull City centre-back said: “It’s unbelievable to be back in the squad.

“For me, it's the best part of my career. The biggest goal I ever had was to play for Ireland. I'm an Irishman, a proud Irishman, and the best I've felt is putting the green jersey on, playing for Ireland.
