But Auston Trusty knows as soon as the gridiron season is done next month it will be all systems go for the World Cup in his homeland.

The defender is determined to make sure he’s part of the conversation as the clock ticks down on his American Dream.

And that means keeping up appearances for the Hoops.

Trusty has a keen eye on social media for both versions of the football game.

The Philadelphia Eagles fan endured a brutal 48 hours when Celtic lost the Old Firm showdown a fortnight ago.

Then his NFL side followed up by suffering what he dubbed "an unfortunate loss" to Washington Commanders in the first round of the playoffs.

But things have since improved on the field back in Glasgow under Martin O'Neill.

Trusty’s Instagram post stating ‘That's more like it’ after Celtic returned to winning ways with a 4-0 win over Dundee United last weekend was picked up by supporters from Parkhead all the way back to his home in Philadelphia.

It's the opinions of O'Neill and US boss Mauricio Pochettino that matter most though, as the 27-year-old targets success on both sides of the Atlantic over the next few months.
