Nancy's credibility will be done for if Celtic lose final

Performance is for the Bolshoi Ballet ..they dance to a different tune in Glasgow.. it's just win or leave town

I DIDN'T make this world. I just live in it along with you.

Wilfried Nancy could lay claim to being the most persecuted French person since Joan of Arc.

She was found guilty of being a heretic and burned at the stake.

But Nancy's case for clemency would be thrown out of court because he is a laughing stock minus a reputable case for his own defence.

Nancy, if his post-match ramblings after the Europa League loss to Roma are any indication, gives a strong impersonation of someone who doesn't know where he is or what to do about his disorientation.

Celtic are in crisis and any other assessment of the club's standing, or that of the manager, is flimsy to nonexistent.

Nancy's "heresy" had, up until Thursday night, included the possession of a magnetic tactics board and wearing green-and-white trainers.

It looked like personal abuse verging on exceeding the boundaries of allowable criticism and entering the realms of victimisation.

The reality of the situation however, is that if Nancy loses to St Mirren in the Premier Sports Cup Final this afternoon then character assassination will follow and his job will be in the balance.

I repeat, I didn't make this world.

The first thing that will be offered as evidence of ill-judgment, following the humiliating 3-0 home Europa League defeat to Roma, will be the accusation that Martin O'Neill should have been left in place until the final had been played.

The presumption that O'Neill couldn't possibly have lost the final will be presented as fact and any counter argument will be rejected as inadmissible evidence.

It's all inconsequential nonsense, of course.

Nancy's post-match soundbite after losing to Hearts last weekend, -to the effect that "I am not about winning or losing. I am about performance" will be his epitaph when the time comes to leave Celtic.
