HUNDREDS took to the streets in two major cities yesterday to protest Donald Trump's visit.

NOT IN OUR NAME.. NEVER IN OUR NAME

Campaigners gathered in Edinburgh and Aberdeen to oppose the US president's private trip within hours of him touching down on Air Force One with his massive entourage.

Some called for Trump to be deported in protest at his policy on immigration, others criticised his friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, while pro-Palestine protesters waved flags and banners.

The 79-year-old arrived at Prestwick Airport on Friday night ahead of a five-day visit to his luxury golf resorts at Turnberry in Ayrshire and Menie in Aberdeenshire.

Protests organised by The Stop Trump Coalition kicked off at noon in Aberdeen and outside the US consulate in Edinburgh. Hundreds of anti-Trump campaigners were out in force in Aberdeen's Union Terrace Gardens with one of the demonstrators dressed as the president with a big papier mache head.

Speakers at the rally, near the city's William Wallace statue, included climate activists, disability and trans rights campaigners as well as Scottish Greens MSP Maggie Chapman.

She told the crowd: "We stand in solidarity not only against Trump but against everything he and his politics stand for.

He believes that climate change isn't real, he believes that cutting services for those in the world with the least is the right thing to do.

"We say no to all of those things, not in our name, never in our name." Connor Dylan, the organiser of the anti-Trump protests in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, said: "The vast majority of people in Scotland were already opposed to everything Trump stood for when he first visited as president.
