Saints gaffer Robinson will be in demand

KEITH LASLEy admits St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson is bound to be on the radar of bigger clubs.

The Northern Irishman’s stock continues to rise after winning the League Cup and building on three successive top-six finishes.

Chief operating officer Lasley reckons Robinson now stands equal if not greater than the club's best ever managers, including legendary figure Sir Alex Ferguson.

And Lasley admits he's delighted - but surprised - the 51-year-old is still in position.

Lasley said: "We all know the stats about management and the average tenures in football.

"So, yes, it's a surprise and as a club we're obviously very pleased about that. We have no plans for anything to change.

"I certainly don't want to be out there banging the drum for other people to come and have a look at our manager.
