WAITROSE has left Scots customers bemused after failing to include neeps in a Burns Night meal deal.

The posh supermarket chain admitted the supper staple was not available as part of the £12 offer which includes one main, two sides and a dessert.

After a concerned member of the public got in touch, the Sunday Mail investigated two of the chain's Glasgow stores and found the shelves in question neep-less.

One shopper told us they asked store staff why - and were told the lack of mashed turnips in the deal was because English shoppers are not keen and think Burns Night is all about the haggis.
