Traitors helps Inverness become one of favourites for £200m title
THE Traitors could help Inverness beat its rivals to be crowned UK City of Culture, according to bookies.
The Highlands bid for the money-spinning prize appears to have been given a huge boost by the award-winning BBC series.
Ardross Castle in Easter Ross is the venue for both the British and US versions of the global TV game-show phenomenon.
Now gambling firm McBookie has installed Inverness-Highland as 3-1 second favourite to win the Government competition - and land the estimated £200million economic boost that comes with it.
Spokesman Paul Petrie said: “If timing is everything, Inverness-Highland’s bid is blessed. Few things unite a nation like damn good telly. The Traitors is about the biggest annual TV event in popular culture right now.
