Timber: Gunners are on the brink of something special under Mikel

- Simon Mullock

ARSENAL defender Jurrien Timber insists the glory days are just around the corner for the Gunners.

Mikel Artetas men go into the new season looking to rid themselves of the nearly-men tag after finishing second in each of the last three Premier League campaigns.

The pressure is on ex Rangers ace Arteta to prove he is not a serial loser, starting with today’s Premier League curtain-raiser at Manchester United.

But Dutch fullback Timber said: “With Arteta as our manager, the best times at Arsenal are coming, The culture he has created, with his vision on football at a top level, is bringing Arsenal to new heights.

“Arteta is a top coach. He really improves you as a player. I have learned so much from him and he is pushing me massively to get the best out of myself”
