Hundreds face redundancy while chiefs jet round world
SCOTLAND'S most prestigious universities are facing £187million in cuts despite bosses raking in over £3.2million in pay and expenses in just two years.
Edinburgh, Strathclyde, Aberdeen and Glasgow all paid lavish packages to their jet-setting vice-chancellors despite grappling with financial shortfalls that could see hundreds of staff made redundant.
While three of the institutions have released full details of luxury hotels and flights to the Sunday Mail via freedom of information requests, Glasgow University has repeatedly failed to provide a breakdown in relation to its recently retired £400,000-a-year boss Sir Anton Muscatelli and his successor Andy Schofield.
