Robbo: Gusty win over Dark Blues could be huge for our season

DUN WELL TO DIG THAT OUT

STEPHEN ROBINSON predicted St Mirren's narrow win over Dundee could prove priceless come the end of the campaign.

Killian Phillips struck in the 39th minute to send Saints soaring up to third spot. The Buddies had a tough first month of fixtures but are off to a fine start in their bid for a fourth successive top-half finish.

And Robinson said: “These are the games you look back on at the end of the season. When there’ not a lot in it and you go away with three points, that can arguably be the difference between being a top-six side or not.

“We capitalised on a good spell in the game. That's what good teams do, they put people to the sword when they're on top. And we've done that.

“We were in good possession of the ball when we were under pressure.

“Dundee were always in the game, credit to them. I've seen improvement every week from them.

“Overall I was pleased and I was delighted with the result. You have to find ways to win football matches”
