Vulnerable kids will bear brunt of big funding hit

Desmond - who now lives in Dubai - claims the Gambling Commission's evaluation of his bids was flawed or biased and he was not given a fair chance. He is seeking damages for loss of opportunity to operate the National Lottery licence, which he estimates

cost him £1.3billion in profits over a decade. The Gambling Commission has confirmed any damages would likely come from lottery good causes.

A plethora of organisations providing services to vulnerable people could be hit including dozens in Scotland.
