Crocked ace got big kick out of day in the sun

CRAIG GORDON admits he is still desperate to play his part at Hearts this season as he fights his way back from injury.

The evergreen Scotland international started his testimonial against old club Sunderland.

But due to a lingering nerve problem he kicked the ball straight out at kickoff and Zander Clark immediately replaced him.

But even at the age of 42, Gordon is still hungry to prove himself.

He said: “I was desperate to try to play longer in the game but it became too difficult. The medical team didn’t want me to do it.
