CRICHTON WILL IRON OUT GERS’ ATTITUDE
Sunday Mail
|August 17, 2025
RANGERS captain Nicola Docherty says Leanne Crichton has the iron will to change the mindset at Rangers.
The former Scotland international has taken up the manager's post following Jo Potter's departure.
Crichton has never managed on her own before but Docherty, who played with her at Glasgow City and Scotland, believes she has the necessary steel to toughen up the Gers dressing-room.
Rangers have lost out on the title by suffering final-day heartache in the past three seasons.
But Docherty, who will lead out the team at Montrose today, said: “I've know Leanne a long time. We played together and I know she is a winner.
“She is coming here to win things and make sure we are going into games with the right approach.
“That isn't just one-off matches or the big games but making sure we are turning up week-in, week-out.
“There is pressure at a club like Rangers but that pressure is because we want to be winners. That is the message Leanne will get through.
