But after a summer spent mixing it with the likes of former AC Milan and Liverpool winger Fabio Borini, Kilmarnock’ new boy insists he’s ready for a baptism of fire against Celtic.

Should the right-back get the nod he could find himself up against any one of Hoops wing kings Daizen Maeda, Michel-Ange Balikwisha or Sebastian Tounekti.

It’s a challenge the former Ross County defender relishes - especially after putting in the hard yards at the star-studded PFA camps.

Ex-Italy star Borini was there after leaving Sampdoria and other high-profile names among the 48-strong pool were Connor Wickam, Britt Assombalonga and Ravel Morrison.
