Rodgers cleared up talk of a potential exit on the back of his pre-match comment regarding clubs needing new players - or managers - to keep things fresh and insists he is “150 per cent” certain of leading the side next season.

He also hasn't ruled out the possibility of sticking around longer.

Rodgers said: “It’s not something that the club or I need to worry about now.

“This is about getting the job done and we will see where we're at over the season.

“But the club knows my position. I was always going to be here for the three years but I'm sure we will have a chat of some sort over the course of the summer.

“But for now it's focusing on getting the job done.

“It's been a great journey for us up until now.

“So we've already finished in the best way we possibly can.”

Regarding his pre-match comments, he said: “I was just asked a question and I was surprised.

“I was only talking about the team dynamic and how the game works.
