ANGRY HOOPS FANS TOLD TO TICKET ON CHIN
Sunday Mail
|April 20, 2025
DUNDEE UNITED chiefs have insisted the price hike for next week's visit of Celtic is necessary to cover security costs for hosting a potential title party.
The Hoops need a point to retain their Premiership crown and could claim it in their next league fixture at Tannadice.
The Celtic hierarchy have raised a number of concerns with the SPFL over the pricing for the potential title clincher.
The clash is also of major importance to United who are in the fight for third place and European football.
In a statement, Celtic said: "Following the announcement of ticket arrangements for our forthcoming Scottish Premiership match against Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday, April 26, we can confirm that we have raised a number of concerns with the SPFL."
The champions are unhappy that Hoops fans located in the upper tier of the Jerry Kerr Stand are being charged £42 and in the lower sections the price is £40.
Celtic also have an allocation in the Jim McLean Stand where tickets are £25 in the upper tier while it is £33 in the lower area of the same section.
