£100m taxi trips a cause for concern

EVERY child has a right to education and it would be unacceptable if anyone was to be deprived of that because they can't get to school.

But it is clearly unsustainable for local authorities to be spending almost £100million on taxis transporting pupils to their classes.

Common sense would also tell you that something is going wrong if 43 per cent of schoolchildren in Scotland are now classed as having additional support needs.
