Vietnam Marks Independence Day

The Embassy of Vietnam in Sri Lanka held a distinguished commemorative event on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Hilton, Colombo to celebrate two significant milestones: the 80tth anniversary of Viet Nam's Independence. Day and the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sri Lanka.

The Hilton Colombo came alive with vibrant colours, cultural rhythms and distinguished guests as it proudly hosted the celebrations of VietNam National Day. The evening brought together diplomats, and other dignitaries, such as business leaders and members of the Vietnamese community in Sri Lanka marking the deep-rooted ties of friendship and cooperation between the two nations. Guests were greeted warmly and ushered into a night that celebrated VietNam's rich history, culture and future aspirations. The evening was also marked by a cultural showcase featuring traditional vietNamese music and dance performances, offering the guests a glimpse into nation's artistic soul. Guests indulged in an elaborate spread of authentic VietNamese cuisine.
