SATA Chief Lauds Sri Lanka's Hospitality Industry for Performance Excellence

President of the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA), Ismail Hameed, noted that Sri Lankan stakeholders of the tourism industry, winning Silver were a testament to Sri Lanka's high standards and exceptional service. The statement refers to the ninth edition of the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA), hosted by Cinnamon Grand Colombo recently.

Hameed issued a special statement to the SATA supplement of "The Sunday Island' congratulating Sri Lankan properties and services for their success at the ninth edition of the SATA 2025 gala event held in Colombo.
He congratulated Sri Lankan winners, highlighting their high standards and exceptional service as a reflection of the nation's hospitality. He also acknowledged the efforts of all participants and winners in recognizing the best of South Asian hospitality and expressed appreciation for all participants and the winners.
The founder and president of SATA, Ismail Hameed, has made a significant effort to elevate the hospitality industry in the region. SATA recognizes and celebrates the achievements of stakeholders across South Asia and has played a key role in setting higher standards for service quality, customer satisfaction, and innovation in the tourism and hospitality sector. The awards have received endorsements from numerous industry organizations, highlighting their importance in promoting and uplifting the industry across countries like the Maldives, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
Hameed and his team of Highrise Pvt Ltd based in Male, has successfully positioned SATA as a premier event for the region's travel and hospitality industry. “SATA's objective is to recognize and reward the exceptional performance of companies and individuals in the South Asian hospitality sector, encouraging them to achieve greater excellence” said Hameed.
