The would-be king who changed face of nation for good

At the tender age of four he declared his ambition to be "world king", according to sister Rachel.

He never did rule the world - but he transformed the UK, backing (but not leading) the Vote Leave campaign, taking the Tory party to a stunning election victory and negotiating the Brexit deal.

It wasn't easy. As a child, Boris was deaf and endured operations to get his ears working properly.

The family moved around a lot, and Boris lived in New York, Washington, Oxford, Connecticut, Somerset, Brussels and various suburbs of London between his birth in 1964 and entering Eton at the age of 13.
