Stunning panoramic views but punters feeling the pinch

A CAMPSITE owner at a picturesque fishing village has revealed his business is struggling with bookings for the peak school-holiday season.

Mike Thomas has run a campsite at Bay Ness Farm in Robin Hood's Bay, North Yorks, with wife Claire for 25 years — with many customers returning year after year for the sweeping views it provides.

But he now finds himself battling an increase in bills alongside an 18% decrease in bookings this summer. Overall this year, they are 15% down.

Having already raised prices last year, making Bay Ness Farm the most expensive campsite in the area, Mike, 60, is reluctant to do so again.

"There's a limit to what people will pay for camping," he told the Sunday Express.
