Sex probe into 400 Met Police officers

MORE than 400 Metropolitan Police officers are being investigated over allegations of sexual misconduct, shocking figures show.

Britain's biggest force, which employs 33,201 officers, is investigating 1,766 for misconduct allegations.

And four years after the unmasking of rapist killer officer Wayne Couzens, sexual misconduct made up the biggest proportion of cases with 412 live probes.

In total, the Met's professional standards department the real-life AC-12 from hit BBC drama Line of Duty are looking at 3,008 allegations against officers.

They are also investigating 146 cases which date back to before February 2020.

There are 94 abuse of position/corruption allegations, more than 900 discreditable conduct cases, and 126 access to information or disclosure investigations. There are also 57 which relate to the use of police vehicles.
