Putin pounds Kyiv after record prisoner swap

RUSSIA launched a large-scale night-time drone and missile attack on Kyiv yesterday, injuring 15 people in one of the biggest assaults on the Ukrainian capital in more than three years of war.

Fires broke out across the city after 14 ballistic missiles and 250 drones were launched during a seven-hour bombardment.

It led Kyiv’s military chief Timur Tkachenko to say of the attack:

"The enemy is improving its tactics of using drones, while simultaneously striking with ballistics."

And President Volodymyr Zelensky described it as a “difficult night”, adding:

"With each such attack, the world becomes more certain that the cause of prolonging the war lies in Moscow."
